Continuation of the sonal® brand under a new name.

MLL Sonnenschutzsysteme GmbH is your point of contact in questions relating to building shading.

Hamburg. For over 29 years, MLL-Hamburg has been known as a successful and competent manufacturer of weather protection grids, slat systems and ventilation systems made of aluminium. Now the company is also presenting itself as a manufacturer of sun protection systems. The sonal® brand and its system were acquired at the end of 2011 and now exist as an independent product line at MLL.

The successful shading system sonal® is thus being continued under the name: MLL Sonnenschutzsysteme GmbH.

For nearly three decades, MLL-Hamburg has been known as a successful and competent manufacturer of weather protection grids, slat systems and ventilation systems made of aluminium and is now a manufacturer of sun protection systems. The  sonal® brand and its system were acquired by MLL-Hamburg at the end of 2011 and now represent a new product line within in the company.

Weather protection and sun protection can be combined

Effective immediately, the new slats and profiles from MLL can be mixed and matched according to particular needs.

The new MLL sun protection profiles (040 SLC and 050 SLC) are now available in a C-shaped, single-walled design. The beautiful, elegant slat offers even more design freedom. The new profiles are an economical alternative to the hollow chamber profiles in the area of sun protection. Thanks to the clip system from MLL, they are easy to install and can be combined with the frames or the support profiles from MLL weather protection.

Effective immediately, customers can mix and match the slats and profiles according to their needs.

At the end of 2011, MLL-Hamburg took over the sonal® brand and its system. This now comprises a new product range at MLL-Hamburg. Effective immediately, customers can mix and match the slats and profiles according to their needs. New in the MLL Sun Protection lineup is the exterior sun protection design. It can be installed across wide window surfaces with spans up to seven metres.

Brand acquisition broadens the Portfolio.

With its acquisition of the sonal® brand, the manufacturer MLL seeks to complete its portfolio with key sun protection products.

The sun protection brand sonal® was taken over at the end of the year 2011 by the company MLL-HAMBURG. This new division will be called MLL Sonnenschutzsysteme GmbH in the future. The Hamburg-based manufacturer MLL produces weather protection grids, slat wall systems and window ventilation systems for indoors and outdoors. With the takeover, the manufacturer is increasing its product portfolio with sonal: Sun protection, elliptical and single-walled extruded aluminium and wooden slats.

Weather protection and Sun protection

MLL stands for expertise from a single source.

Weather protection and ventilation, sun protection and shading: "we are pleased that we can offer our customers a considerably larger product variety", explains Peter Müsing. He and his son are the managing owners of MLL-HAMBURG, which in the future will consist of the divisions MLL-Wetterschutz and MLL-Sonnenschutz. Both are convinced that the sonal® products are an ideal addition and complement to the company’s range.

Sun protection from MLL.

Always the right large slat for your facade.

MLL-Hamburg, manufacturer of weather protection grids and sun protection systems, completed its range with the acquisition of the sonal® brand at the end of 2011. By doing so, the company is reportedly seeking to further expand its product variety and offer an even more diverse portfolio. In the area of sun protection, extruded aluminium or wooden slats are used. They are assembled rigid or flexible, depending on the architecture of the building and the requirement.
